A little About Kit

Knit is the AI-native platform automating the consumer research process, enabling enterprise brands to run rigorous research in days not weeks. Through Knit, brands like NASCAR, JBL, and Mars automate their consumer research process to get a quicker and more holistic understanding of their audiences.

Overview & Responsibilities

We’re looking for a Senior Consumer Insights Specialist with a strong background in market research, particularly someone who has managed end-to-end primary research projects for Fortune 500 companies in the FMCG, Media, Retail, Consumer Tech, and other industries. The ideal candidate should be skilled in creating research plans, study designs, analysis plans, and reports, with a solid track record in analyzing quick-turn quantitative and qualitative data for storytelling. Experience working directly with US stakeholders is essential. This role is for those eager to apply their market research subject matter expertise towards developing AI products that will transform how research is conducted.

Key Performance Indicators For This Position

  • AI Accuracy Rate: Increase in percentage of AI insights matching human expert evaluations.
  • Research Asset Development: Number of research assets developed over a given period.
  • Research Asset Adoption: Utilization rate of developed research assets by AI and Product teams.
  • AI CSAT Score: Overall customer satisfaction with AI research outputs.
  • AI Development Efficiency: Reduction in development cycle time for AI features.

Key Responsibilities Of This Role

  • Develop and refine research assets from scratch, including study designs, research plans, analysis plans, and comprehensive reports, to help improve and train our AI models.
  • Critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for research projects conducted on Knit to ensure they meet professional standards and provide valuable insights from a researcher’s perspective.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance to the Product and AI teams, ensuring the development of AI products aligns with market research best practices and researcher needs.
  • Provide training and support to the AI team on market research principles and practices, ensuring a deep understanding of the research process and customer needs.

Required Skills & Experiences

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in primary market research, focusing on executing end-to-end, quick-turn primary research projects for Fortune 500 companies across FMCG, Media, Retail, and Consumer Tech industries.
    • We believe professionals with Manager, Senior Manager, or Director-level titles will be most successful in this hands-on role.
  • Proven track record in creating custom, high-quality research plans, questionnaires, analysis plans, and insightful reports from scratch.
  • Strong experience in analyzing, reporting, and storytelling on both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Deep understanding of various market research methodologies and extensive experience working with a variety of market research use cases, including but not limited to concept testing, brand strategy, innovation, customer journey mapping, and segmentation studies.
  • Experience working with US-based Enterprise brands and stakeholders, understanding their business needs, and scoping research projects from scratch.
  • Familiarity with DIY market research tools and platforms. Experience with AI technologies or working on AI-related projects is a plus.
  • Ability to act as a subject matter expert and guide teams with less experience in research.
